So, apparently, Frontier have just released a newsletter with a lot of cool info on the future of Horizons. According to this update, there will be 4 “expansions” coming in the Horizons season:
- 2.1 – The Engineers (spring 2016) – more loot, “expanded mission system” (let’s just hope they also fix them and make them worth our time), exotic weapons (uhm…) and modules;
- 2.2 – Guardians (summer 2016) – ship-launched Fighters. Awesome;
- 2.3 – The Commanders (fall 2016) – finally, the long awaited Commander Creator and Multi-Crew ships;
- 2.4 – “A secret to be revealed in Elite Dangerous: Horizons’ final expansion!” – I’m thinking maybe aliens? Thargoids or something? I sure hope so…
I don’t know about you, but I’m quite excited. I can’t wait for the missions revamp, multi-crew ships, the Commander Creator and all the other stuff that’s coming. Elite: Dangerous is getting better and better. I just wish they’d take their time to fix some of the stuff that’s already in the game.
Oh, they’ve also changed things on the Frontier Store. They made it more intuitive. Also, Horizons is now 20% off so if you haven’t bought it yet, get it now.
If you already own Horizons, you’ll be rewarded with the beautiful Gold Paintjob for the ASP Explorer. A lot of good stuff today from Frontier, I’m happy with my shiny ASP and I can’t wait for the new content to come.
Fly dangerous, CMDRs! See you in space 😉
I consider myself lucky. Why? Because bad stuff doesn’t seem to be happening to me nearly as much as it does for other people. In my ~15 years of playing all sorts of MMOs I only had to open a ticket with the developer twice. First one was an issue I had with my WoW account a few years ago and they fixed it in less than 12 hours. Which was pretty awesome. Continue reading
Well, one week ago I thought I’d never link my Elite: Dangerous account to Steam. Why? Because it seemed unfair at the time. Why should my money go to Valve and not FDev?
Well, it all changed today when Horizons got released. If you can call that a “release”. First announced for 16:00 GMT, postponed for 18:00 GMT. Three different launchers, nobody knew exactly which was which. “Get the blue one!” – yeah, cool. I got the blue one. Install Horizons! Wow, I’m finnaly gonna get to land on planets and all that fun stuff. Awesome! No, not really… I have a 100 Mbps connection and all I got was…
Seriously, FDev? On Facebook groups dedicated to the game some show screenshots with 10+ Mbps and some are at ~0.05 Mbps. Didn’t we all pay the same for your game, FDev? Is this what you call fair game? Well, I don’t. So, if Steam can help me play YOUR game sooner than you can (apparently in about 12 hours now since the download speed went even lower) then yeah, I think they should have some of my money. Too bad 🙁
I just realized I haven’t been active for a few days. But… can you blame me? I mean, Frontier just released Patch 1.2 – Wings and it is awesome! I mean it. If you’ve played Elite: Dangerous for a while but got bored of bounty hunting for no real profit, trading between two stations or exploring just for the fun of it, I have one thing to say to you: GET BACK HERE! The game is just so much better that before, it’s not even funny. Continue reading
